Maintenance for Your Ywigs Boho Locs

• Keep your scalp clean

Dilute your shampoo with water in an applicator bottle, apply this directly to your scalp, massage the scalp, and rinse.

• Keep your hair moisturized

Spritz your hair with a water-based leave-in conditioner or use a water/light oil mixture.

• Care for the human curly hair

Curly hair tends to tangle due to its pattern and friction. Keep your curls hydrated by using water and leave-in conditioner for detangling and moisturizing. It's easier to detangle the curls using a paddle brush, grabbing multiple curls at a time, and then brushing from the ends to the roots.

• No Heavy Products/Oils

Do not use heavy products/oils on locs to avoid greasy locs and product build-up. Avoid using excessive amounts of edge control and be sure to wash it out at the end of the week.

• Washing Locs

It’s usually not necessary to wash the locs, but if you do, please note that this may affect the longevity of your locs. We recommend washing in cool/warm water.

• Tie your hair down

Use a satin pillowcase or bonnet to protect your hair/locs from frizz and help maintain the style.

• Removal

Do not keep your locs in for more than 1.5 months at a time without a retouch or reinstallation. Additionally, avoid going more than 4 months without full removal to prevent your real hair from locking and to ensure healthy hair maintenance.
